Things are well under way at Niddrie Mill creating our new community garden.

On 15th May, we had our first community shed build day led by the wonderful Carolina, with volunteers getting stuck in constructing the first of the shed walls, trying their hand at drilling, using impact drivers, marking out lines and making sure the wall frame was nice and straight!

Our next volunteer shed build will be on 27th May from 10.30am and we'd love to have you there, all ages and abilities are welcome.

You’ll get hands-on experience using tools safely, learn about the process of building a modern timber-frame kit, and meet new people in a friendly and supportive environment. No previous experience is required, and complete beginners are encouraged. We want to share knowledge and learn together, no hierarchy.

If you're keen to come along, all you need are some sturdy shoes or boots, comfortable clothes suitable for practical work, and to avoid loose clothing where possible.

Some tasks will involve physical work and heavy lifting, but there will also be some lighter jobs available for anyone who prefers them.

You will find us at the grassy area between Niddrie Mill Terrace and Nidrrie Mill Grove. You can find the exact location here.

You can just turn up on the day, or for any questions and more info contact: eleanor@communityalliancetrust.org.uk
